Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)
If you have a cold or fever, it is mostly due to common cold and rarely due to COVID-19. However, since COVID-19 patients have been reported in Aichi prefecture, you should look after your own health by taking temperature twice a day, etc. and stay home until you get better. If your symptoms meet the followings, please consult Health Administration Office, family doctor, or local public health center.
- You have difficulty in breathing, severe fatigue, or high fever.
- Fever or symptoms of common cold continues for more than 3 days (If you have a chronic disease or you are pregnant, please consult your family doctor sooner).
It is reasonable to assume that a small number of young infected persons do not recognize infection because of lack of obvious symptoms. Classes and lectures will be carefully arranged to avoid infection spread (droplet/contact infection) even if an infected person is there. Please wash your hands frequently and avoid speaking loudly, while you are engaged in research, work, or after-school activities.
The website “All we have to do to prevent infection is simple” is useful (Link).

If a COVID-19 patient is found among students or staffs of Nagoya University, Health Administration Office and local public health center identify persons who made close contact with infected persons. “Close contact” means “being within 1 meter of a patient for a prolonged period of time” but not “just passing each other”.
